Deanston Virgin Oak is a no-age statement release made from young whisky which is decanted into new American oak casks from Kentucky for the final stages of maturation.

Deanston single malt whiskies are made with water from River Teith which is thought to be some of the purest water in Scotland. The distillery is also powered by hydro energy.

Tasting Notes

The nose is bursting with lemon zest and sweet barley water along with notes of apple and nutmeg. The palate has a delightful sweetness with candied fruits and vanilla toffee balanced with heathey honey. There is a light spice with honeyed malt and sweet oakiness on the finish.

Meet the maker

Based in Doune, Deanston was founded in 1966 and is based in a converted cotton mill. The location was chosen initially due to its proximity to the River Teith and the availability of soft water which is perfect for malt production. Deanston are committed to using a traditional, hand crafted approach which embodies the honesty of the Deanston community. Every drop of their Highland Single Malt is a marriage of the finest local ingredients and the skill of the craft. About 15% of the whisky produced at Deanston is reserved or bottling as a single malt, with the remainder being reserved for blends. All of the whisky is made using unpeated malts from Angus, East, Lothian and Moray.

Delivery Service

We use a combination of delivery services and the provider and service used will depend on your location, the size and weight of the products ordered, the value of the goods and the delivery service you select at checkout.

All deliveries in the UK will be dispatched using either Royal Mail or by a courier. Deliveries out with the UK will always be delivered using a courier.

We always recommend that you provide us with a delivery address where it is likely that someone will be available to receive and sign for the parcel. Where applicable, you will receive communication with a tracking number for your parcel

Delivery Times

We dispatch orders Monday to Friday and all orders received before 1pm are dispatched the same day. Order received after 1pm are dispatched the next working day.

The delivery time depends on your location and the delivery service selected at checkout. However, all deliveries in the UK will generally be made within 3 days of dispatch. Deliveries to European countries will be made within 5-7 working days of dispatch.
