Lilliard Gin (70 cl)
Sitting proudly in the Teviot valley, Lilliard is a small, crowdfunded micro distillery and is the first gin distillery in the Scottish Borders.
The area has an abundance of wild food growing locally and plentiful supplies of fresh spring water which are all used in the making of Lilliard Gin to truly capture a sense of the local terroir.
It’s not only the ingredients that are influenced by the area, the name comes from the legend of a local heroine who died while fighting to defend the land from the English in the Battle of Ancrum Moor in 1545.
Made using locally foraged botanicals that reflect the four seasons of the Borders landscape, Lilliard Gin is light and elegant with a delicate yet complex floral palate.
The perfect serve
To really bring out the flavours of the gin, we recommend a good tonic water and fresh orange peel full of essential oils
Meet the maker
The Lilliard Ginnery is situated next to the River Teviot in the tranquil Teviot Valley in the Scottish Borders. Lilliard share the lush valley with ospreys, otters, red squirrels and also the award winning Scottish Borders Brewery, their next door neighbour. Breaking with tradition, Lilliard’s copper still is named after a man. Donald is one of the smallest working stills in the UK and takes his name from a local Borders ambassador who is renowned for his flowing copper locks and his tact and diplomacy!
