Illicit Black List Smoked Gin (70 cl)
Distilled just to the south of the River Clyde, the Black List Gin from Illicit Spirits is the first Scottish gin to use smoked peat which is more commonly associated with whisky production.
The gin's base botanicals including juniper, coriander and angelica were smoked over peat for 8 hours. The macerated botanicals were also distilled through the smoke which has been captured in the still.
Other botanicals used include black cardamom, black pepper, all spice, bitter orange and Lapsang Souchong tea to give this unique gin it's intriguing flavour and black colour.

A unique combination of traditional gin botanicals, citrus, subtle spices and a deep smoky flavour.
The perfect serve
We think the Black List is best enjoyed over ice with ginger ale and a slice of orange. Alternatively, sip over ice like you would like a whisky or mix with ginger beer for an extra fiery ginger hit.
Meet the maker
Launched in 2017 by Darran Edmond, Illicit Spirits are based in a railway arch in the Tradeston area of Glasgow. Illicit Spirits focus on applying traditional methods to produce modern, unique and innovative spirits. The name is a nod to the Illicit distillers of old, who have inspired the choice of still, and also a reference to the hidden location under the tracks heading south from Glasgow Central Station.
