Feragaia Distilled Alcohol-Free Spirit (50 cl)
Location: Leven, Fife
Feragaia was launched in Autumn 2019 and is Scotland's first alcohol free spirit.
Bold in nature, Feragaia is made using a combination of 14 carefully selected land and sea botanicals including seaweed, bay leaf and chamomile. In order to achieve the taste and intensity of Feragaia many more botanicals are used, in far greater quantity, than you would traditionally see in the production of any alcoholic spirit.
Made using a unique and extremely labout intensive process, many of the stages of the process are executed by hand including harvesting, steeping, filtering, distilling, blending, finishing and bottling.
Sugar-free and bottled at 0.0% ABV, Feragaia never touches alcohol during distillation.
Citrus meets spice in a drink that is clean and complex. At first you'll get citrus and fruity notes of blackcurrant, kaffir lime and verbena. This is followed up with a herbaceous body of chamomile, pink peppercorn and serrated wrack before you get light, smoky notes and a warming finish from cayenne pepper.
The perfect serve
Feragaia is extremely versatile and can be enjoyed in a number of ways. It's perfect when sipped over ice but also mixes really well with tonic or ginger ale. Finish with a ribbon of orange peel or a bay leaf.
Meet the maker
The alcohol-free ‘spirit’ is the brainchild of Jamie Wild and Bill Garnock, who together have more than a decade of experience in the global spirits market. The pair grew up in the shadow of the world's biggest distillers and were inspired to bring new-age innovation to the age-old process. The name comes from a combination or Latin and Greek mythology and means 'wild earth'. The brand's long term mission is to 'Keep Earth Wild'. To achieve this goal, the bottle and cap are both 100% recyclable, all botanicals are composted post-distillation and botanicals are locally sourced where possible.
