Inschriach Distillery is based on the 200-acre Inshriach estate near Aviemore. The distillery came to fame in 2015 when the converted hen house won Channel 4’s Shed of the Year. Set within the atmospheric Cairngorm National Park, Inshriach gin is made using juniper and rosehips which are handpicked in the Cairngorm mountains. The key to the smooth, dry Inshriach gin is the simplicity of the ingredients and ensuring that they are harvested at their absolute best. Every berry in the gin can be traced back to who picked it, the date it was picked and also where it was harvested. Currently, there are two Speyside gins in the range; an original dry gin and a 57% navy strength gin. Each batch is only 500 bottles, all of which are numbered, and the season in which they are made will result in very subtle variations in the taste.
