Bladnoch Samsara Lowland Single Malt Whisky (70 cl)
Location: Bladnoch, Newton Stewart
The Samsara Lowland Single Malt Whisky is a celebration of the 200th anniversary of Bladnoch Distillery.
The no age statement full-bodied whisky is said to be made up of whiskies that are a minimum of 8 years as well as older, rarer whiskies. First fill Californian red wine and bourbon casks have been used for maturation.
Non-chill filtered and naturally coloured.
Fittingly, Samsara means ‘rebirth' and it was released to mark the reopening of the distillery in 2017.

On the nose Samara is fruity with plums, orange blossom and vanilla. It's sweet on the palate with a winey start before the plums, vanilla and citrus come through. The finish is mellow with a spicy, lingering tail.
The perfect serve
Enjoy as you enjoy a dram. Perfect when sipped neat, on the rocks or with a dash of water.
Meet the maker
Founded in 1817 Bladnoch Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. The story began when John and Thomas McClelland were granted a licence to distil whisky on their farm in Scotland's Lowlands. Successive generations of the McClelland family grew and modernised the distillery for almost a century. The distillery then changed hands many times including falling under the ownership of Arthur Bell & Sons for 10 years until 1993. In 1993 Bladnoch came back under private ownership and was acquired by David Prior, an Australian entrepreneur, in 2015. The distillery underwent an extensive refurbishment for 2 years and resumed production in 2017 to celebrate its 200 year anniversary.
